This year, we return to the same site as last year. This was a very muddy site and we recommend that anyone coming out to be wearing rubber boots.
Looking for a great way to help out while getting some fresh air and exercise? Help plant some trees, shrubs, wildflowers and pollinator gardens! 10,000 Trees welcome members of the community to join us at our 31st anniversary spring planting event. Make a difference for future generations, and ensure that our natural habitats stay strong and that Markham remains lush and unspoiled in the middle of our city. Come join us, RAIN OR SHINE! Be sure to dress appropriately and be prepared to have fun – and get a bit dirty.
Also, don’t forget:
spade or shovel
bucket and gloves
waterbottle or mug (for coffee)
If you're interested in a volunteer position on the day of the planting, check out our volunteer positions.

ALL volunteers are asked to meet us at the Mount Joy GO Station located at 1801 Bur Oak Ave in Markham. Once there, look for the signs to board 10,000 Trees' Express Shuttle Buses to the planting site.
If you are driving to the GO Station, there are plenty of parking spaces, and if you are taking public transit you can get to the Mount Joy GO Station by taking either GO's Stouffville Line Train OR TTC's 102, 18, or 54 Bus.
The first* Shuttle Buses for Tree Planters will depart the GO Station at 8:00 a.m. and they will run continuously throughout the day until 3:30 p.m. when the last Shuttle Buses will leave the Planting Site.
*Note there will be one (1) earlier Shuttle Bus, just for Planting Coaches
Are you a student looking to volunteer for community hours? If so, you are welcome to help us on planting day, but you must register on the day of the planting in person at the Student Community Service tent with photo ID. No exceptions.
Please bring your school volunteer form to be filled out at the event.
